A woman believed to be Taiwanese gave birth prematurely to a baby at during a long-haul flight.
The woman was reportedly told the stewardess on the Chinese Airlines (CAL) staff that her waters had broken and she was going into labour during a flight from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Los Angeles.
Staffs then made an appeal to passengers for any medical practitioner onboard the plane.
Coincidentally a doctor (can be seen in the video) was on board and assisted in the delivery process. The baby was delivered safely much to the relieve of everyone on the plane and applause soon followed.
But there is a twist to the story. Apparently the mother's intention was to have the baby 'purposely' delivered in the USA in order for get US citizenship.
In later report, air-stewardess assisted in the delivery reported heard the woman asking in Mandarin " Are we in USA fly zone yet?" repeatedly.
